Representatives from Battle River Region are travelling to the Allen Sapp Gallery, Battleford to present protocol to regional Elders and Battleford community representatives in preparation for the ceremonial events that will occur on September 30, 2019 at the place where the Battle River joins the North Saskatchewan River. This important visit recognizes sacred, historic, geographic, and cultural expressions within Treaty Six Territory.

September 1, 2019: The 2019 phase of the Battle River Ceremony (recommenced in the years 2012, 2013, 214, 2015) begins at Mt. Butte and the Headwaters of the Battle River with special activities that will be announced in due course.

September 21, 2019: The Lt. Governor of Alberta Distinguished Artist Awards at Maskwacis.

To our knowledge, this is the first time that the entire integrity of the Battle River is being recognized by First People, Settler People and New People in the Battle River Region.

September 30, 2019: Conclusion of the 2019 Battle River Water Ceremony at Battleford and the Allen Sapp Gallery.
