ello,

On behalf of the members of the Pigeon Lake Artist’s Society, I would formally like to invite you to participate in our annual exhibition and sale.  I passed on the photos Susan Kokas sent of your art to the other members of PLAS and we unanimously agreed you would be an excellent addition to this year’s show.

Further to our conversation, I will attempt to outline the event in more detail.  The Pigeon Lake Artist’s Society is a non-profit art society established 28 years ago.  We currently have eight members with potential for more juried members.

Our annual show is held at The Village Creek Country Inn at the Village at Pigeon Lake.  We have two locations there: the Spruceview/Diamond Willow Room in the hotel building and also the Events Room on the Boardwalk just down from ChefN’ Restaurant.  The Show is held this year on Friday June 28th from 7 pm to 10 pm and is by invitation only (we serve wine and cheese so it is not a public event).  On Saturday the Show is open to the public and runs from 10 am to 4 pm.  Your attendance (or a designate representing your work) will be needed during the hours of the show.

We set up the show on Friday afternoon and we would need your artworks there by 3 pm.   Please bring your work directly to the Spruceview Room. We have some easels but if you have your own display material it would be best.  You know how you like to display your work most effectively and time is of the essence on that day.  We will provide signage for your name.  Please bring about five to ten pieces of art and then we shall see how best to display them within the designated place.  Also, it is most desirable that your work be available for sale.  PLAS charges a commission of 15% on all sales in order to cover the cost of hotel room rentals, advertising expenses, refreshments, postage and also to help with paying for the art scholarship we give annually to a student at Pigeon Lake High School.

Would you also email me a brief biography that I can prepare and print to display near your work.

As far as space goes, I would say the open area in the room is about 10x10 and it would be shared by the two guest artists representing the Battle River region.  Other PLAS member artworks will be displayed there as well of course.

We do mail out invitations but also send email invitations.  If you have guests (and potential art collectors) you wish to receive an invitation, please let me know.

I think I have given a lot of information here but likely have missed something.  I have attached a copy of the email invitation..  Please contact me via email or phone at 780-361-7567 should you have any questions.

Thank you,
